Meetings | 2006 AAPG, Perth, Western Australia
5-8 November
2006
Dear Presenter
In November, 2006, the American Association of Petroleum
Geologists will be holding its annual International Conference
and Exhibition in Perth, Western Australia. The theme for
the conference is “Re-unite
Gondwana – Realize the Potential”. See the
conference web site: http://www.aapg.org/perth.
We have been asked by the Technical Programme Committee
to co-chair a session under the “Integrating
new and emerging technologies”theme,
titled ”Electromagnetic Prospecting and
de-risking”. We intend that this session
will include eight to ten oral presentations and eight to
ten poster presentations.
We hope that you will consider this opportunity to showcase
the technical studies that you have been engaged in and can
contribute to the session objectives of demonstrating the
importance of electromagnetic sounding studies in the exploration
for and appraisal of hydrocarbon reservoirs in a range of
geological settings.
A call for abstracts for the Perth conference is being issued
at this time. Oral presentations will be by electronic projection
only, using one projector and one screen.
Half-day poster presentations are using an informal format.
Electrical outlets will be available for those who wish to
include computer- or video-based presentations.
Abstracts are limited to 250 words and are due by 18
January 2006 (online or e-mail submission
only). Authors will be notified via e-mail of acceptance
or rejection in April 2006.
We encourage you to submit your abstract online through
a link from:
http://www.aapg.org/perth/
Once you log into the abstract submittal site, the system
will guide you through the process step by step.
If you plan to submit by e-mail, follow the directions on
the AAPG website and direct the email to shensley@aapg.org .
We look forward to receiving your abstract.
Please contact either of us before 30 October if you intend
to submit an abstract, and we can discuss how it might best
fit into the Session.
We hope you and your organisation will be able and willing
to offer some of your insights and experience at this important
conference.
Sincerely
